Extraordinary School Year - Ensure Your Child's IEP Maximizes Learning

Thursday, August 25, 6pm-8pm
As school is starting, it's a good time to review your child's Individual Education Plan and make sure they are set up for success to make meaningful progress in their Least Restrictive Environment. DSAMT's Advocacy & Policy Director, Erin Richardson, and Executive Director, Alecia Talbott will give you the tools you need to have a great plan for this school year.

Not sure if this workshop is for you? Ask yourself the following questions:
*Are you satisfied that your child's IEP sets them up for success and has high expectations for them?
*Is your child spending most of their day learning alongside their non-disabled peers?
*Does your child's IEP utilize best practice supports, services and modifications to ensure meaningful progress on their goals?
*Do you receive data on your child's status on goals on a regular basis?
*Do you have regular, effective communication from your child's team on what they are learning and their day, so that you can reinforce at home and ask about their day?
*Do you understand what your child's rights are under IDEA?

If you answered, "NO," to any of these questions, then there are improvements to be made, and DSAMT can help. This will be an interactive workshop with time for your specific questions, so it will only be offered in person. Bring your IEP. Registration is required by August 23rd. Dinner is included, and IEP/advocacy books will be available, as always, for you to take from our stock of resource books.

Workshop will take place at the DSAMT office 1310 Central Court, Hermitage, TN 37076. *Childcare is not provided, but if that or transportation prevents you from attending, please contact [email protected]
