John and Mark Cronin built a social enterprise called John's Crazy Socks that has a mission to spread happiness. They bootstrapped their start up into a multimillion-dollar business and the world's largest sock store. They work to show what people with differing abilities can achieve - more than half their colleagues have a differing ability - and Giving Back is baked into everything they do. John is not only an entrepreneur, but he also has Down syndrome and offers an inspiring story of turning challenge into an opportunity. John and Mark have been named EY Entrepreneurs of the Year, have testified before the U.S Congress and spoken at the United Nations. They have also spoken at dozens of corporate events (e.g., Microsoft, IBM, EY, Bank of America, etc.) and conferences.
John and Mark will help you see what’s possible, tell their origin story and entrepreneurial journey. They will discuss building a social enterprise and the value of a social enterprise, and creating a unified workplace and the benefits of hiring people with differing abilities. There will be time at the end for questions
